To whom it may concern:

I am writing this letter to recommend Kari Spangler in her pursuit of a future career in Speech-Language Pathology. Ms. Spangler has been a volunteer Big Sister in the School-Based Mentoring Program with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass, Inc., since March of 2011. During my time interacting with Ms. Spangler since meeting her at a recruitment event in January of 2011, I have been extremely impressed with her desire and commitment to help others, especially children in need.

As a Big Sister, Ms. Spangler has demonstrated excellent consistency, patience, and caring. Because of these positive qualities, Ms. Spangler has been able to quickly build a solid rapport with her Little Sister. In recently speaking with the Father of Ms. Spangler’s Little Sister, I learned that he has already observed positive changes in his daughter since being matched. More specifically, the Father noted that Little Sister is taking an interest in new activities such as gymnastics and music. He attributes this directly to Ms. Spangler’s influence as his daughter sees that Ms. Spangler is involved in a variety of activities and interests. Thus, Ms. Spangler has already had a positive impact on her Little Sister through building their friendship and leading by example. It has been a pleasure to have her as a mentor in our program.

I strongly believe that Ms. Spangler has the appropriate qualities, skills, and commitment to helping others to succeed in a career in Speech-Language Pathology. Thus, I highly recommend her to any potential educational institution or employer evaluating her qualifications for a position as a student or employee in the Speech-Language Pathology field. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or require additional information related to Ms. Spangler.
